Organic Grenache Grand Depart Aozina 13.5% (2021)

100% old vine Grenache natural red. Low sulphites & unfiltered. Medium bodied warm fruits with a delicious freshness & no oak.  Grenache in this area of France is a religion.  There are many wineries making delicious Grenache.  Damien Petit-Fils has his work cut out with his new winery project to compete with the big names of the region but he has started very well.  Damien is a truly artisan in the sense that his production is tiny and he does it all himself with a little help from friends at key times.  The wine made with no inputs or manipulations is gorgeous, smooth, ripe yet with a lovely tension and energy.  There is no oak so spoil Grenache’s soft red fruits, notes of olive and subtle leathery note.  Super wine, soft enough to go with anything but good cuts of meat are ideal for this.
